Primary Purpose

 

Provide targeted coaching, data analysis, and instructional support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of high-yield teaching skills. Serve as the campus-level expert in curriculum implementation, evidence-based practices, and professional learning communities to drive student achievement. Additionally, serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator (CTC): Manage security, compliance, and administration for state (STAAR/EOC, TELPAS), national (AP, SAT/ACT), and local (MAP) exams, as well as TIA student growth tracking.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

Instructional Management, Coaching, & Data Analytics

  1. Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
  2. Foster collaboration and team building among staff members through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) framework.
  3. Evaluate curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for assigned subject areas based on evaluative findings (including student achievement data) and recommend targeted changes as needed.
  4. Work directly with teachers to analyze and interpret student data (such as STAAR/EOC, MAP, and local benchmarks in Eduphoria) and use findings to develop, apply, and monitor instructional and intervention strategies.
  5. Reinforce expectations for staff performance concerning evidence-based instructional strategies and proactive classroom management.

Campus Testing Coordination & Assessment Management

  1. Serve as the primary custodian of test security for the campus, ensuring absolute compliance with state law, TEA guidelines, and district policies.
  2. Directly manage the logistics, scheduling, room assignments, material distribution, and technical readiness for all high school testing programs, including STAAR EOCs, TELPAS, ALT-2, AP Exams, PSAT, SAT/ACT, TSIA, and district MAP windows.
  3. Coordinate closely with the Special Education, Section 504, and Emergent Bilingual departments to ensure 100% accuracy of student testing accommodations and designated supports across all state, local, and TIA assessments.
  4. Account for, track, and securely store all paper and secure digital testing materials before, during, and after testing windows.
  5. Investigate, document, and immediately report any testing irregularities or procedural infractions to the Principal and District Testing Coordinator.
  6. Manage student testing rosters, track graduation-requirement EOC status for upperclassmen, and organize remediation/re-testing schedules

School/Organizational Improvement

  1. Help the principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to track progress on campus performance objectives, academic excellence indicators, and mandated accelerated instruction plans (HB 1416).
  2. Collaborate with campus leadership to align instructional resources and goals with the campus improvement plan.

Staff Development

  1. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning.
  2. Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through modeling, co-teaching, and collaborative problem-solving.
  3. Observe classroom instruction and provide non-evaluative, actionable feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  4. Plan, organize, and deliver mandatory annual Test Security and Administration Training for all campus test administrators, proctors, and support staff.
  5. Design and facilitate specialized professional development on interpreting MAP growth reports, Eduphoria local assessments, and EOC data to drive targeted classroom instruction.

Personnel Support

  1. Assist the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new instructional staff.
  2. Support the onboarding and mentorship of teachers new to the campus or profession.
  3. Provide instructional, assessment, and operational support to other district campuses, including the middle school, as assigned by the principal or district administration.
